Marcus Harris is a devoted father, as well as a bestselling, award-winning, critically acclaimed poet, author, playwright, filmmaker, volunteer, philanthropist,and activist. He's long been hailed for his insightful, timely, and often poignantly humorous body of poetry, prose, and commentary.
Marcus' writings have been featured in Ebony, Essence, and Rhapsody Magazines, as well as in numerous print journals and ezines. He's been praised for his skill at combining traditional poetic elements with a modern improvisational style to highlight issues of cultural, political, and societal importance.
An impassioned advocate for arts education, Marcus has presented poetry workshops at numerous elementary, middle, and high schools. He also regularly visits college campuses and presents guest lectures on the topics of literature and publishing in the modern era.
Marcus has served as a community volunteer for years, having been actively involved with mentorship organizations, tutoring programs, and homeless shelters.
